Year 8 End of Year PE Theory Exam - Key Stage 3 - All Resources - Simple GCSE Content

(0)
As a result of having end of year exams across all subjects at our school I have created this end of year exam for Year 8. I have based this on the new specification in preparation for those who opt for GCSE PE. Whilst it is challenging the content can be and probably already is taught through practical lessons to avoid missing any practical time (the effects of exercise on the body systems, the skeletal system, the components of fitness, the principles of training etc). Included in this resources is the following: - 40 mark exam paper featuring multiple choice and short answer questions. - The mark scheme. - A revision booklet to print and give to students to revise. This could be used during a fitness unit also. - A revision powerpoint to go through in lesson, we use one lesson prior to the exam to recap this content. This resource would be great value for anyone who needs to create a key stage 3 exam or revamp their current one to correspond to the new specification. Year 7 end of year exam also available.

OCR GCSE PE 9-1 (2016) 2.1.c - Homework Project - Ethical and Socio-Cultural Issues in Sport

This is a homework project booklet for unit Ethical and Socio-Cultural Issues in Physical Activity and Sport for the new OCR GCSE (9-1) PE Specification (2016). Check out my other resources where you will find full, highly rated units of work for the new OCR specification. This homework task follows the structure of all our homework tasks as our students benefit from routine and structure. Based on their target grade students complete four differentiated questions. Students have a choice of nine questions which are banded into difficulty. The bands that they answer the questions from are determined by their target grade but students can choose to push them selves and are still offered choice with three questions in each band. For example a student with a target grade of 6 would be expected to answer 1 question from band D (hardest), 2 from band C (middle) and 1 from band B (easiest). The questions require them to practice various skills such as explaining (band B), applying to sport (band C) and evaluating (band D).

GCSE PE Revision Workbook for Units 1.1.1 - 1.1.5 based on Andy Murray (for Edexcel)

(1)
* Please click the photo and look at 'Workbook Preview' for examples from the workbook * Please search ‘GCSE PE Revision Workbook for Units 1.2.1 - 1.2.5 based on Ronaldo (for Edexcel)’ for a booklet for the second part of the course. This is a 33 page revision workbook which allows students to revise units 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.1.4 and 1.1.5 for Edexcel GCSE PE. It is colour coded and features the parts of the specification detailing what they need to know, past exam questions and questions which require students to apply their knowledge to a sporting example with various scenarios based around Tennis Player Andy Murray. There are also prompts, tables and boxes for students to recite their knowledge of the topics. Students can use the check list to tick off what they know and high light areas in which they need to revise further. Also attached is the answers for the exam questions featured in the workbook in the blue boxes. Both booklets have been used by our department and have been very well received by our Year 11 in preparation for the upcoming exam. It has taken them several lessons to work through and they have enjoyed the project style and the tasks of linking all topics back to Sports People (Murray in this case). Applying knowledge to a sportsperson has allowed some students to produce developed statements when they have struggled previously. The booklet could easily be catered towards a different sport with the majority of questions being transferable. I would appreciate your feedback below! Units covered: 1.1.1: Healthy, active lifestyles and how they could benefit you 1.1.2: Influences on your healthy, active lifestyle 1.1.3: Exercise and fitness as part of your healthy, active lifestyle 1.1.4: Physical activity as part of your healthy, active lifestyle 1.1.5: Your personal health and wellbeing

OCR GCSE PE 9-1 (2016) Physical Training Mock Exam with Mark Scheme

(0)
I have created a mock exam used to assess the physical training units of the OCR 9-1 specification. This paper has been created to test the components of fitness, applying the principles of training and preventing injury in physical activity units (1.2.a, 1.2.b, 1.2.c) We will be using this as an end of year mock exam with our year 10 classes. Included in this item is: Physical Training Exam Paper - this paper features 21 questions which equate to 60 marks, the paper will take 1 hour as it would with the real exam. 1 mark, 2 mark, 3 mark, 4 mark and a 6 mark question are included in this paper. For the 6 mark question I have made it test two different areas of knowledge (as they do now) but as our students have not started the Paper 2 content yet I have just used two physical training topics. Mark Scheme - a detailed mark scheme written in the style of an official mark scheme which can be used with students when evaluating the paper afterwards. I have also wrote model answers to show what is expected in each answer. The question paper and mark scheme have been designed to replicate the design/style of OCR’s exam papers to ensure students take the paper seriously. They look realistic.
